Wood Rising - Church Barrel Organ

The organ was built in 1862 by Flight & Robson; restored 1957; one barrel replaced 1960. Repertoire of 30 "hymns". It was filmed being played at the church open day in 2009.

The view from the top of Caston church on 5th September 2009. The tower was open to raise funds for the church. It was a spur of the moments video so the quality is not to good. I had to walk over the struts that support the weather vain so it is also rather jumpy. It would be good to go up again and do a better job.

The Launch of Capturing Our Waylands Heritage 20/2/09

The Capturing Our Wayland Heritage project was officially launched on 20^th February 2009 by the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Rev Graham James. The launch of the project was accompanied by an exhibition of research and images by heritage groups from Ashill, Griston, Thompson, Merton, Saham Toney, Scoulton and Watton that are already working in the area. It was a very well attended day and it got the project of to a very good start. We would like thank the Bishop and all the groups and individuals that gave their time and support to the project to make the day such a success.
